Overview

Internal tools carry a lot of a business and get almost none of the design attention. I build the ones that operations, support and finance teams live in — and I build them to be fast to use, not just fast to load.

That means keyboard-first workflows, search that finds things, permissions that are enforced and visible, and layouts designed around the task the operator actually does forty times a day.

What ships

  • CRUD interfaces with search, filtering, bulk actions, and an audit trail
  • Role and permission handling that is enforced server-side and reflected clearly in the UI
  • Dashboards with the metrics that drive decisions, plus CSV and PDF exports that match what people paste into spreadsheets anyway
  • Real-time or polling views for queues, jobs and operational state
  • Operator workflows: multi-step actions, confirmations for the destructive ones, and undo where it is feasible
  • A layout system so new admin screens take hours, not days

A good fit when

  • Your team runs the business out of a spreadsheet and a database client
  • An internal tool exists but everyone complains about it
  • You are outgrowing a no-code admin and need real control
  • Support and operations are blocked waiting on engineering for data

FAQ

Can this sit on top of our existing database?
Usually yes. I can build against your current schema directly, or through an API layer if the data lives behind services. Read-only to start is a common and safe first step.
How do you handle permissions?
Enforced on the server for every action, with the UI hiding or disabling what the current user cannot do so nobody is surprised by a 403.
Do internal tools need the same polish as the marketing site?
Different polish. Nobody needs animation on a refund screen, but they very much need it to be fast, legible, and hard to misuse.
